In line with the implementation of Towards Zero Suicides (TZS) Initiative in SA Health facilities, the following documents have been developed and are now out for consultation.
Dr John Brayley, Chief Psychiatrist, welcomes your input, suggestions for improvement or any queries you may have, in relation to the implementation of these documents.
More information about the TZS Initiative can be found at https://www.sahealth.sa.gov.au/wps/wcm/connect/public+content/sa+health+internet/about+us/campaigns+and+projects/towards+zero+suicide
These documents provide guidance and advice to Local Health Networks in developing clinical pathways for people with suicide and self-harm related distress.
- Chief Psychiatrist Standard – Requirement for Services to Establish a Suicide Prevention Pathway (SPP)
- Chief Psychiatrist Guideline – Suicide Prevention Pathways (SPP)
We are also considering the use of the Standard for all facilities gazetted under the Mental Health Act, including those operated by private or non-government services.
Consultation period ends at 5pm on Friday 17th May, 2024
