The Office of the Chief Psychiatrist is working hard to change how people at risk are helped no matter who they reach out to. This means re-training health workers around the state based on the latest best-practice to ensure our health workers are able to provide the right support at the right time.

Empowering the Community to help is just as important. We've had conversations recently in Two Wells, Christies Beach, Jamestown, Kingston and Cummins about Suicide Prevention Networks which work locally to break down the stigma and help people to help each other. The Australian community has taken on this issue and there are now 24 Networks state-wide.  If you'd like to know more about a Network in your community, why not give us a call on 8226 1091?
