The Final Report on the Review of the Mental Health Act 2009 has been released. The SA Law Reform Institute of the University of Adelaide was asked to undertake the independent statutory review.
The Government will now consider the recommendations and work on what the next steps will be, in consultation with key mental health groups and consumers.

Signed by the Minister for Health, Minister for Police and Emergency Services, Chief Executive Department for Health and Wellbeing, Commissioner of Police, Chief Executive Officer SA Ambulance Service and Chief Executive Officer, Royal Flying Doctor Service, the MOU establishes an agreed framework to ensure that people who have or appear to have a mental illness receive safe transport and timely access to assessment and treatment services.
