From 1 February 2024 an updated Mental Health and Emergency Services Memorandum of Understanding is in effect.Signed by the Minister for Health, Minister for Police and Emergency Services, Chief Executive Department for Health and Wellbeing, Commissioner of Police, Chief Executive Officer SA Ambulance Service and Chief Executive Officer, Royal Flying Doctor Service, the MOU establishes an agreed framework to ensure that people who have or appear to have a mental illness receive safe transport and timely access to assessment and treatment services. The MOU is supported by Local Liaison Groups in each area.
